The Challenge

How do you introduce a novel, paradigm-shifting technology like virtual reality to the mainstream public in a busy retail environment? The core challenge was to move beyond the technical specifications and bridge the gap between a potentially intimidating new product and the everyday consumer, creating a sense of wonder, accessibility, and tangible value.

My Solution

Representing Meta in partnership with major retailers since 2017, I developed a multi-faceted role that blended creative content production with strategic, on-the-ground insight. My solution involved:

Authentic User Experiences

My approach was to shift the discovery process from feature-led presentations into curated experiences centered on immersion and human connection.

Documenting Engagement

I produced professional-grade photography that captured authentic customer interactions. These visuals were shared internally with Meta’s teams to provide a real-world window into how the public was engaging with their products in the wild.

Retail Staff Enablement

I created and executed retail enablement strategies for Best Buy and other staff, ensuring they could effectively communicate the value of Meta’s evolving product line.

Frontline Feedback

I served as a key source of field intelligence, providing detailed feedback on demo firmware, user experience, technical issues, and customer sentiment. This information helped to directly shape and refine the in-store program.
